Mission and Roles

Our mission is to support and promote data-informed institutional review, planning and decision making to help HKU achieve its strategic goals and academic excellence as a world-class university, through provision of timely, reliable and insightful data analytics.

Service Outline

Internally, MIU supports the Senior Management Team and faculties. It provides annual management reports to Budget and Resources Committee.

Externally, the office provides annual statistical reports to the University Grants Committee and other government departments.

History of MIU

MIU was established in 1998. Initially, it was a constituent unit of the Registry. It was subsequently transferred to the President's Office on 2 December 2003. Currently the Unit reports to the Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
